tumblrbot asked: WHAT IS YOUR EARLIEST HUMAN MEMORY?

Walking into my babysitters living room, looking at a painting of a woman giving birth.  I had to be about 3 or four.  It was painted by Romano, Alicia’s, my babysitter, step-dad.  Alicia’s mother had just given birth to her baby sister at home, and Romano wanted to capture that moment forever. It was an extremely intense and bloody painting.

Hermes’ Window Design Director Leïla Menchari is purely an artistic genius.  Her window displays of the Paris flagship store are amazing and out of this world. This display for Spring 2011 is one of the more modest of displays.  Check out her previous work on the official Hermes Facebook fan page.

Take a look at the beautiful and artistic interior design of the Hermes Paris boutique located at 17 rue de Sèvres. This video leaves me as well as many others speechless. To walk inside a boutique as breathtaking as this one, it would be an honor to spend my hard earned cash (and somebody else’s) to fulfill all my dreams and desires…. At least all of the dreams made of leather and silk.

Umm…. Hermes on FB

Hey, did you know that someone made a Hermes page on Facebook? http://www.facebook.com/pages/Hermes-Paris/110894508931534#!/pages/Hermes-Paris/110894508931534 WEIRD! Because the info is strictly from Wikipedia, which I absolutely love, I know that it was some random Hermes lover, hence my blog….. But this is a fantastic idea. Why don’t they really make a page and get a little more personal with the masses??? It probably will not happen, but it was a good try for whoever made that dreadful, mini-attempt. Wutever…. More to come. In the meantime…What would you like to see from Hermes???

What Should Hermes Do Next???

Well, this is kind of a hard one.  While I don’t want to sound corny…. I really like my first idea.  I wish that I could have three ideas and just have people “vote” on the one they would be most attracted to.

So… Without the most painful thought process on Earth, I have come up with a new marketing tactic that Hermes ought to employ.

Hermes should connect with select educational institutions around the world that offer fashion classes and add a Hermes Hand Crafting/Stitching course.  In this course, students are trained to be Hermes artisans upon graduation (or pretty darn close).

During the course the students will have to begin a blog and post small videos of their progress, as well as how their feeling and maybe a personal tip to others that would like to take the course. The blogs would be linked to the schools as well as the Hermes website.

I feel like the course should be held in France, but combines all participating institutions, so every quarter the faces will change.

This was my idea because I would personally LOVE to join this class.  It may just be an “introductory” course since it takes 3 (three) years to train to be a Hermes Artisan.  Something like this would be great for Hermes, aspiring students, and the institutions as well.

Hermes Marketing Part 2

Hermes Marketing

Hello all! I am working on finding interesting new marketing tactics that Hermes uses.  They are such a prestigious fashion house; one knows that such efforts would be a minuscule investment into the brand.  However, my research has failed to provide the much-desired information.  What I did find was an interestingly worded article on frbiz.com (China suppliers directory and China products catalog, providing trade leads) Weird I know.

Anyways they were flame throwing the fact (or assumption) that Hermes does not invest greatly (6% of profits) into consumer advertising.  They prefer to stick to a niche market and not make a waist of good party-throwing, theme-having, event-coordinating, building funding MONEY!
